A basketball court not only a piece of land.​ It is a 5-year-old’s first slam dunk from his dad’s shoulder, it is the echo of victory, it is the memory of the neighborhood, the place where a community of players leave their basketball legacy.

But, can it be even more?

With this concept we want to inspire designers and artists to see the court as their urban canvas. Thanks to Red Bull, it is now a space where they can leave their own living breathing legacy, in visual form, to inspire generations of players and fans to come. A place that, through art, becomes their own.

Design concept:

The visual direction of this concept exemplifies what could be done if artists or designers view the court as an urban canvas and pour their creativity into it. In the mural like graphic, the bold application of vibrant hues and daring geometrical elements reflects the city's (and the sport’s) pulsating energy. Details like the fence shadows, casual players and worn-out asphalt hint to New York's unique ambiance. Every meticulous detail, colour, and shape is strategically directed to capture attention, resonating with the artistic desire to create something lasting and original in the competitive vibrant tapestry of urban New York life.
